Before Arriving:

Before flying, even if vaccinated we ask you to take a COVID-19 PCR test or Rapid Antigen Test and receive a negative result ideally within 5 days of departure (this means taking the test within the 5 days as well). NOTE: Your country and/or the airline may require a 72-hr result

FAQ's

Q: How do I get to Isla Mujeres

A: The closest airport is Cancun. You can take a taxi or bus to the ferry dock in Puerto Juarez (about 17 KM) via taxi or bus. The ferry to Isla Mujeres is approximately 15 minutes. Further instructions and options will be sent to registered participants

Q: When should I arrive?

A: You should arrive to Isla Mujeres on December 15th, ideally in the afternoon. We will gather for dinner (time TBA), and hopefully opening yoga before dinner at 6pm if all or most arrive in time. The earlier you arrive the more time you will have to settle in. Check in is at 3pm

Q: When should I plan to return?

A: We officially end on the morning of December 22nd, before breakfast with practice * Breakfast is the last included meal Participants can choose to go back to the airport or travel onwards to other locations. As the date approaches, those who are registered will receive further details on how to travel. Please note when purchasing return tickets that the ride to Cancun airport from Chichen itza is approximately 2.5-3 hrs.

Q. Can I arrive early to our Venue Isla Mujeres

A: If there is availability. Please contact Coco B for availability. The other option is to stay somewhere else on the intimate island or in Cancun the night before and travel to Coco the day of our retreat.

December 15-19 – Isla Mujeres

December 19th- Travel to Chichen Itza

December 19-22 Chichen Itza, Cenotes and Ek Balam – Pyramids, Cenote more ceremonial yoga practice at Chichen Itza

Dec. 15 Arrive, 6-7:30 yoga (depends on participant arrival times)

Dec. 16- 18

6am-8:30 am Sadhana Practice

9am breakfast

11:30-1 pm pm Practice * December 17th no daytime practice more time to explore the island, return by 5 pm for 2.5 hr practice*

2:30-5:30 pm Explore the Island / Free time / Beach, Pool or Spa treatment time

5:30-7:30 pm – Yoga and Meditation

Leave for Chichen Itza on the boat and then bus ride

During our stay near Chichen:

Dec. 19- Arrive in Chichen Itza by 3pm to settle in with a restorative practice before dinner.

Dec. 20th Sadhana, then explore Ek Balaam and Cenote, Sunset Yoga and Meditation

Dec. 21st – Chichen Itza Temple early morning time TBA

Return for meals and rest by pool or spa treatments and continue with yoga and meditation practice.

Q:     How do I get to Shambala Petit Hotel in Tulúm?

A:     The closest airport is Cancun. You can take a taxi or bus to Tulúm, (approximately 90 minutes.)

Q:     When should I arrive?

A:     You should arrive at Shambala on December 16th. We will gather for dinner (time TBA), and an opening ceremony in the evening. The earlier you arrive the more time you will have to settle in.

Q:     When should I plan to return?

A:     We officially end on the morning of December 22nd, before breakfast. * Breakfast is the last shared meal (starting at 9am and ending between 9:30 and 10 am). Participants can choose to go back to the airport or stay in Tulúm. As the date approaches, those who are registered will receive an email on how to prepare and with the travel instructions to Shambala.

* Shambala only serves breakfast when there is a retreat.

Q:     Can I arrive early or stay later at Shambala?

A:     Yes, if there is availability. Please contact booking@shambalapetithotel.com to inquire. 

Q:     What payment methods are accepted?

A:     We accept all major credit cards via our online payment portal. For all of the methods below, please contact using the form here. $50 Stripe processing fee is included in all purchases through this site.

  • Bank check (no fees, $50 less than advertised rate)

  • PayPal, (and all major credit cards through Paypal). Please be advised all paypal payments include a 3% fee added to the total, and you will need to have an active paypal account. International payments (outside the U.S.) will have higher paypal fees according to country.

  • Venmo (no fees)

  • Chase quickpay with Zelle (No Fees)

  • Bank Wire: International has banking fees of $30 additional. Domestic in the U.S. $15. Please contact us to send you an invoice.

Cancellation policy: $350USD of your deposit is non-refundable (there are exceptions - see below) No refunds will be provided after Nov. 18th.

Q: What if the retreat has to be canceled? If we have to cancel (we prefer to think of it as a postponement) you will be reimbursed for the full retreat cost. You can also choose to use it as registration for returning. If there are reasons you are unable to fly from your country due to covid and covid-related concerns you can also receive a full refund. We understand these are unprecedented times. We are not responsable for any flight expenses, please look into purchasing travel insurance.
